Md Muazzam (Zam)

Md Muazzam (Zam) is the Founder and Artistic Director of Arts for Action (AFA), and a fellow of the Singapore International Foundation’s Arts for Good (A4G) programme and T:>Works’ Artistic Directors Academy (ADA). For over 15 years, he has worked at the intersections of arts, community, culture, and education – collaborating with diverse groups including residents, youths, seniors, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable communities. He has directed, facilitated, performed, and produced works both locally and abroad, including at the International Community Arts Festival (ICAF), Singapore International Festival of the Arts (SIFA), and Feed Your Imagination (FYI). His collaborators include Drama Box, The Necessary Stage, ArtsWok Collaborative, Maya Dance Theatre, Diverse Abilities Dance Collective, Evolution Productions (UK), and Lightwire Theater (USA). Beyond the stage, Zam has worked with Action for AIDS (Singapore) and was the pioneering Community Development Manager at 3Pumpkins (Tak Takut Kids Club), where he led key initiatives including partnership development with ComLink @ Jurong West. His practice is grounded in a deep commitment to telling truths with care, dignity, and discernment through an artistic lens.
